Aug 13th-Jamie receives potential diagnosis of pancreatic cancer after a brief hospital stay where she underwent a biopsy of the pancreas. The results, unfortunately were inconclusive and is scheduled for a second one August 28th where they will biopsy the liver. The Doctors are fairly certain that it is malignant but are unsure as to how far it has progressed. We will have more information after the August 28th results.
Jamie, Kent and Family will be flying to Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland on September 3rd for a second opinion. Johns Hopkins is a teaching school and are up on the latest cutting edge technology. Jamie was fortunate to get an appointment with John Cameron who is a leading US specialist on pancreatic cancer. Luckily, she will stay in comfort with Ashley and Todd who live there.

Jamie, Steph told me at Education week that she heard you had cancer. Oh, that was hard for me to write. I am so sorry. I think you were Steph's YW advisor when she was a Sr. I never told you what an impact you had on her. You had all the girls write on a special paper that had a Temple on it what they were looking for in an eternal companion. She refereed to that letter many times and it has given her strength. You were my visiting teacher for years. You are inspired and have a rock solid testimony. You are loved. Please know of our love and our prayers. Great photos!
Kent and Jamie: Great to visit with you by phone even in light of Jamie's challenge. Looking back over our family times together, over the service you two have rendered to our children as they progressed, we have only the fondest of memories. It's rare when paths cross so often in so many venues that at least one incident might be less than perfect, but we can't think of one. You two are special to us and to our children. We wish you God's speed in this difficult moment. We love you and your children. But you know that already. Love, Susan and Buzz
